Block 2 – The Oria
Soon to be the tallest residential building ever built in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, The Oria has reached a pivotal milestone: the core is now complete to its full height. The roof structure is also progressing as scheduled, moving the building closer to becoming fully watertight.
Floor plates are being cast steadily, with several levels above the podium already complete. A new floor plate is being added every two weeks, keeping works on schedule. Façade installation commenced at the end of September and is on track to reach level ten by Christmas, providing the first striking impression of the building’s finished look.
In addition, three large street screens have been installed. Facing east, these showcase the new 100 Kensington branding. Internally, the gym and swimming pool have already been cast, the commercial floor plate steels are in place, and pre-cast staircases are on site ready to be dropped into the core.
Block 3 Progress
At podium level, steel girders are nearing completion, metal deck flooring is partially complete, and rebar and concrete works for part of Block 3 has been finalised.
Block 4 Progress
Basement steelwork is underway and the podium deck is on track for completion in November.
Block 7 Progress
The ground floor structure has been completed, with preparations in place to take up the first floor next.
Site Infrastructure
All three tower cranes are now on site and fully operational. A hoist has been installed to Building 2 to provide roof access, and the first UKPN transformer arrived in September as scheduled.
With progress visible across every corner of the site, 100 Kensington continues to move closer to becoming a one-of-a-kind development in London’s most prestigious royal borough. More exciting updates will follow soon.
