HS2 to be given Royal Assent

NO INDEX

Birmingham’s impending £50 billion high-speed rail link to London is due to be given Royal Assent today, meaning work can finally begin on its construction.

This is a fantastic announcement for the scheme, which is the ‘final hurdle’ before the nine-year construction process can begin. The introduction of the high speed rail link will bring a host of new prospects to Birmingham with the creation of 104,000 jobs, 2,000 apprenticeships and improved accessibility to the capital.

This ‘hugely significant milestone’ means there has never been a better time to invest in the UK’s second city.
