Damascena Relocates its Headquarters to Lyndon House, Edgbaston
Independent coffee house Damascena has relocated its head offices to Birmingham after agreeing an additional 1,200 sq ft lease at SevenCapital’s Lyndon House development in Edgbaston.
The popular Middle Eastern coffee house, delicatessen and bakery, which has four existing venues located in key areas across Birmingham, previously agreed to take a total of 2,570 square feet (sq ft) of space on a 10-year lease to launch its fifth branch.
With a lease now agreed for an additional 1,200 sq ft, the ground floor of Lyndon House will form the business’ new headquarters and will include 3,343 sq ft of indoor space, alongside an attractive 590 sq ft garden terrace. Plans for the venue also include a barista school.
Work to fit out the new space, which has been designed by Faber Design, is now underway, with the new Damascena Coffee House at Lyndon House expected to open by spring 2022.
Anas Zein Al-Abdeen, managing director of Damascena, added: “We are thrilled to locate our headquarters at SevenCapital’s Lyndon House, as well as to launch our fifth branch in Birmingham city centre. Lyndon House offers a fantastic location, not only for our latest Damascena Coffee House, but also for the operational side of our business due its outstanding office accommodation, enviable location and accessibility from the city centre. We look forward to moving into Lyndon House later this year and welcoming customers to enjoy our fresh, flavoursome beverages and food.”
Simon Dicken, senior director at SevenCapital, said: “It has been fantastic to work with Damascena and to provide additional floorspace at Lyndon House to support their operational move. The building offers a fantastic location for the business as it continues to grow and expand, as well as providing a further dynamic to the growing café culture within Edgbaston Village. We look forward to welcoming Damascena to Lyndon House.”
Damascena Coffee House’s location at Lyndon House occupies a prime position along the Hagley Road and within the parameters of the increasingly popular Edgbaston Village. It is easily accessible from both inside and outside Birmingham city centre by car or via the new Metro line, which will stop adjacent to the building.
